Kids and adults favorite super fluffy and soft sponge cakes. I love all the different rotatimg flavors and you can't go wrong with the original flavor. Must get items in Chinatown.

Light, fluffy, and addicting sponge cakes! I bought 5 different flavors and it was a total of ~$7. I loved the ube sponge cake, original sponge cake, chocolate chip sponge cake, and coconut sponge cake. Unfortunately, the pandan sponge cake tasted kinda artificial and wasn’t my favorite, which is sad ‘cause I love pandan. Still awesome overall, would totally recommend.

Coming from Vancouver, my expectations for Chinese food are high... but this 40+ year-old legacy spot completely stole my heart. First stop on the New York Chinatown crawl was Kam Hing. Family-owned since 1984, they are famous for their viral sponge cakes--but it's the family itself and their genuine warmth that makes this place so special. It was filled with lots of locals, and the space is surprisingly spacious, warm, and inviting. It honestly feels just like going over to your auntie's house for a cozy visit. I tried to tip on my card and they gently refused. Then, while sitting there enjoying my food, I overheard another customer who was short on cash, and the staff just smiled and said, "No worries." That kind of pure community heart is so rare these days. Original Sponge Cake ($1.25): Pure perfection. It was incredibly fluffy, cloud-like, and hit that ultimate Asian-dessert benchmark of being "not too sweet." At $1.25, it's an absolute steal. Thai Tea & Green Thai Tea: Rich, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the light texture of the cakes. Bottom line: Please support legacy businesses like Kam Hing! They are the true soul and heartbeat of NYC. Phenomenal treats, unm

Stopped by Kam Hing Coffee Shop in Chinatown for a quick episode of Jaguar’s Guide TV, and this was a simple, affordable snack stop that delivered. This isn’t a full sit-down restaurant experience. It’s quick, casual, and straight to the point. The service was fast and friendly, and even though they have some funny signs inside joking about being rude, the actual experience was smooth. I tried three sponge cakes and a small mint lemonade. The Chocolate Chip Sponge Cake was the standout for me, 10/10. The Original Sponge Cake was also really good, simple but done well. The Blueberry Sponge Cake was okay, just not on the same level as the others. The Mint Lemonade was surprisingly good and paired well with the cakes. For $8.75 total, this was strong value, especially in New York. My breakdown: Food & Drinks: 8.8/10 Service: 8/10 Value: 9/10 Jaguar’s Hospitality Score: 8.6/10 🐾 Overall, Kam Hing is worth checking out if you want a quick, simple Chinatown snack. Got an original sponge cake and a Bangkok tea this morning..been thinking about them ALL day. Incredible. And the decor was chefs kiss. Great value. Love it here. Life=changed.
